It’s Official! Center Announces New Space in the Works!

It’s official!!!

Thanks to the amazing support of our community and sponsors (and community partners who helped us complete the accessibility assessment!), we’re excited to announce we’ve officially signed the lease and put down the deposit to open the LGBTQ+ Community Center of Darke County! The space is located at 5395 S ST RT 49 in Greenville, OH (some folks might remember this as the old Tiger Radio Station!).

Our goal is to officially open the doors on May 1st, and we’re pleased to have found a safe space that includes the opportunity to host outdoor community events! A few short weeks ago, we launched our inaugural fundraising campaign, and we want to say a special thank you to the community supporters, donors, matching gifts, sponsors and partners who made today’s momentous occasion possible! In one month, we’ve already raised 25% of our inaugural annual fundraising goal! We’re hoping that you’ll be as excited as we are about the new space, and help us cross the finish line! With your support, here’s what will be possible beginning in May:

  • A safe space for LGBTQ+ partners and allies to host their meetings
  • LGBTQ Connects – A weekly social and peer-to-peer support group
  • LGBTQ+ Up All Night – An open hang out for coffee, games and karaoke on Friday nights
  • Health and Wellness Days on the 3rd Thursday of each month from 4:00-7:00, including access to condoms, free HIV/STD testing and more
  • Safe Space Trainings for area agencies who would like be more inclusive
  • Our first Pride Picnic, bringing together the community, entertainment and community partners (details coming soon!)
  • Crafts fairs, community events, and so much more!

Here’s how you can help:

Stay tuned for our Housewarming Save the Date, volunteer opportunities and upcoming events!
