Welcome to the LGBTQ+ Community Center of Darke County

Creating a safe, inclusive, and welcoming Darke County, OH

PRIDE WEATHER UPDATE:

IT’S PRIDE INSIDE!

Greetings! We recognize the weather forecast is kind of grim today, but if we can safely do so, we want to continue to create a space where folks still have the opportunity connect, celebrate and experience Pride! For now, Pride activities are being moved inside at the Shawnee Prairie Nature Center, including vendors, stage and health and wellness activities. It will be cozy! But we invite you to join us for a day of community, connection, hot dogs, pizza, and celebration from 12:00-6:00pm as weather and safety permits.

COMMUNITY WEATHER SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS

If you choose to join us for Pride, we want to prioritize your safety, self-care and wellbeing first! You’re welcomed and encouraged to explore the outdoor spaces, including covered areas, as safety and weather permits. Of course, during any lightning or heavy rains, we encourage all to be inside or in a safe space. Restrooms are available inside and out. Accessible parking is near the front of the building, and overflow parking is available as needed.

FOR OUR PARTNERS, STAGE GUESTS AND VENDORS

We’re grateful for your partnership! We understand the importance of safety, comfort, and we want to meet your expectations as best as we can. Today’s activities will be indoors, and we’ve set a smaller stage area inside, as well as spaces for vendor tables. We hope you can continue to join us if you feel safe to do so. For those who have any concerns, or won’t be able to join us, please let us know by reaching out to the Stage Coordinator or the Vendor Liaison. Otherwise, we’ll see you at Shawnee Prairie! (For those who join us, we’ll be working with you to set-up a little differently when you arrive. We appreciate you and the opportunity to get creative together to make this a fun and joyous experience for all involved!)

THANK YOU

Thank you to our team, partners, entertainers, sponsors, vendors and everyone involved who have put so much love and support into Darke County Pride! Today’s event will be a little different, but for those who are able and feel safe to do so, we invite you to join us community, connection and fun!

SEVERE WEATHER

We’re dedicated to a safe and fun celebration! While we’re working to get creative with the weather as it currently is, in the event of extreme weather that is a threat to safety and wellbeing, or a tornado watch or above, Pride will be cancelled for the safety and wellbeing of all. We want to create a safe space for community connection today, and prioritize safety and wellbeing first 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️
