“The National Leadership Consortium, in partnership with the Ohio Developmental Disabilities Council (ODDC) is assembling a small group of people to participate in an Advisory Committee to inform a study of LGBTQ+ people with IDD in Ohio.
Our goal is to better understand the experiences of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer+ (LGBTQ+) in Ohio. Insights will be collected about peoples’ experiences in accessing and using needed services through a survey, interviews, and focus groups. This study will also investigate the barriers faced by LGBTQ+ people with IDD, including their experiences finding jobs, getting housing, getting healthcare, and more. With the help of the Advisory Committee, the research team will develop a final report, plain language summaries, and infographics with the study results when the project ends in September 2025.”
