The Center is dedicated to helping address health and wellness disparities in our community. Due to social and environmental factors, we know that LGBTQ+ folks are more likely to experience addictions and mental health crises. That’s why we’re excited to be partnering with Family Health Services of Darke County to promote their MAT (Medication-Assisted Treatment) and Xchange Clinic. From the organizers:
We treat patients who currently have an opioid use disorder or alcohol use disorder. We can assess over the phone to see if they would be appropriate for possible treatment. Treatment options may include:
- Alcohol: Vivitrol or Oral Naltrexone
- Opioid Use Disorder: Vivitrol, oral naltrexone, and buprenorphine products- tablets/films or Injectable (buprenorphine can also be known as suboxone)
The Xchange Clinic is a confidential One-to-One Needle exchange the 2nd and 4th Fridays from 10 AM- 2PM at Family Health Services. (Walk-Ins welcome, do not need an appointment). Services also include: Harm reduction, confidential testing for Hepatitis and HIV, condom distribution, wound assessment, Narcan training/distribution, fentanyl test strips, and linkage to care.
